Top » Antiques & CollectiblesThe Bellingham Antique Radio MuseumSite: http://antique-radio.org/homeframe.htmlThis site was too fun to pass up. The Bellingham Antique Radio Museum site has a goal to provide information on the history of radio, with photos and descriptions of many early radios. But the especially fun part is that the site uses RealAudio to provide soundbites of early, significant radio broadcasts. The site looks small at first, yet is full of the sounds of yesteryear. Listen to clips from the old Jack Benny and Jimmy Durante shows. Hear Dick Tracy once again. Go back in time and listen to some historic world events, such as Winston Churchill on VE Day and Roosevelt declaring war. Particularly interesting are the 30 or so short bites from famous radio commercials. There are off-site links and an education section that would be a good reference for teachers with articles on electricity, builing your own crystal set, and an intro to wireless communication.
