National parks provide more than a place for recreation and relaxation. Some are pristine reminders of what our world was before the progress (?) of man. Drill down a bit in the National Park Service website and you will find a listing, by state, of all the National Parks. Each park is showcased with a photo, description, location and its attributes towards nature and the environment. So much can be learned studying the rainforests of the Olympic National Park in the NW corner of Washington state, or the International Biosphere Reserve located within the Congaree Swamp National Monument in South Carolina. Listings for lesser-known parks in the U.S. are available, along with a special section for Central America.
