For those music lovers who want to learn more about the history of classical music, I strongly recommend this website. Music History, which is maintained by the Internet Public Library in conjunction with the Juilliard School, gives the reader a concise overview of music history from the Middle Ages to the present. In addition, it contains hyperlinks that provide detailed information about various terms and composers. This is a very readable site, even for the casual classical music lover.
