Folk song of the month

One of the most appealing aspects of folk music is the glimpses it provides of the lives and culture that surround the songs and performers. Roger McGuinn's Folk Den is a rich repository of just such a sense of melodic folk consciousness. Since November 1995, Roger has added one song a month to the mini music library on this site. Click on a song title, and you'll be presented with a page that contains a link to the RealAudio version (played and sung by Roger himself), the lyrics and chords, and a few words about the history of that piece of music and/or Roger's personal experiences with the song. A sweet and easily accessible tribute to the folk genre.
