Mapping jazz and blues

Site: http://www.wnur.org/jazz/styles

Here's a terrific learning tool for jazz neophytes, and a great resource for old hands: WNUR's "Styles of Jazz" map. Joe Germuska has adapted and hypertextualized Joachim Berendt's excellent schematic (from Berendt's authoritative history, "The Jazz Book"), which illustrates the different types of jazz that developed over time, in relation to blues and other music genres. Click on a particular "flavor" of Jazz, and you'll be taken to several links that pertain to that topic--however, a lot of this is still under construction. If you've got some relevant links that you think would be helpful (and I bet you do), by all means contact Germuska and help complete this great website.
