After much complaining, Instagram returns to a more chronological algorithm

Two years ago instagram made a change to their algorithm that arranged posts on your feed to “relevance” as opposed to showing them chronologically. As a popular consensus, no one liked this update. Ever since the change, users have been trying to convince Instagram to go back to the old algorithm.

Instagram has FINALLY listened.

Well, sort of. While they are not going back to their old algorithm (R.I.P), they announced in a blog post that they will be launching a new update that will put more recent posts towards the top of your feed.

Instagram is also releasing a “New Posts” button, which will allow the use to choose when they want to refresh their app, as opposed to it happening automatically.
