STORY – Hailing from Portland, Oregon, this folk band is made up of three sisters: Natalie, Allison, and Meegan Closner. They advise listeners to “Expect honest words and genetically perfected harmonies.”

The Wild Reeds
SOUND – Winding country roads, the last days of summer, starry nights.
STORY – An L.A based indie-folk band. The band has three, count them, THREE female lead singers: Kinsey Lee, Sharon Silva, and Mackenzie Howe. These three gals also write all the music, lyrics, and harmonies for the band, switching the lead vocals on each song.

My Bubba
SOUND – Pattycake and earth-toned lullabies in autumn.
STORY – My Bubba is a duo made up of My, from Sweden, and Bubba, from Norway. They focus in minimalistic music and simple harmonies. Fun fact, the pair first met when Bubba responded to a “for rent” post for My’s apartment.

Lily & Madeline
SOUND – Waking up from a dream at 4 AM.
STORY – Hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana, this duo consists of sisters Lily and Madeline Jerkiewica. They got their start from making YouTube videos until they were discovered and created their first EP, The Weight of the Globe.

SOUND – After-hours at the bar, tipsy from cocktails and craft beer.
STORY – This American band falls under the alternative folk/indie genre. They are a six part band, with Monica Martin as the front-woman. Despite their unique sound, the band has been on an “indefinite hiatus” since 2016, as the band explores individual artistic venture.I know, this broke my heart, too.

Florist
SOUND – The first ray of sunshine in the morning and earl grey tea.
STORY – Florist is an indie-pop band from Brooklyn, New York. What began as a “friendship project” has turned into two albums and three EP’s. A relatively new band, this group is one to watch!

SOUND – Your nostalgic friend who wears oversized hoodies and loves The Odyssey.
STORY – Snail Mail is made up of lead singer/guitar Lindsey Jordan and her three part band. Lindsey is a recent high school graduate but doesn’t let that stop her from creating powerful guitar anthems with that perfect blend of depressing yet somehow upbeat lyrics.

Mothers
SOUND – A solo hike leading to a lonely weekend in the mountains.
STORY – The band began in 2013 by Kristine Leschper, who was inspired by her printmaking at Lamar Dodd School of Art to pursue new creative outlets such as singing and songwriting. She recruited other artists from Georgia to create the band and since released an album in 2016 entitled When you Walk a Long Distance You Are Tired.
