Walmart challenges competitors by offering grocery delivery services

Walmart announces that they will expand their online grocery delivery service to over 100 metro areas, making their service accessible to over 40{4b67ba8b923a50fd3c2d318c36d85df0f722be16ef3877469216aec8196f2e86} of US household by the end of the year. The service will allow its customers to have produce, meat, seafood, bakery items, and meal kits available for delivery.

Walmart has trained employees to act as “personal shoppers” to ready deliveries for pickup. They have also paired up with Uber and Deliv to organize the delivery of groceries.

There is a minimum $30 for delivery orders, as well as a $9.95 charge for delivery. Amazon Prime, however, offers free delivery to their members.

The service has received mixed reviews on Google Play and the Apple Store. While some customers note that the service is very convenient for the disabled and the elderly, they still complain about long wait times and inaccurate products.
