ChemoCars is a service in Charlotte that offers free rides to treatment for cancer patients. The service was created by Zach Bolster, who was inspired to help cancer patients after his mother passed away from stage 4 pancreatic cancer. When she was sick, Bolster quit his job on Wall Street and dedicated all his time to commuting his mother to and from chemotherapy appointments. This is when he realized that many cancer patients would miss treatment because they could not find a reliable ride to the hospital.

ChemoCars was launched after Bolster’s mother passed in December of 2016 and coordinates with Uber and Lyft through donations to pay for the rides. Since last March the company has provided over 2,000 rides.
