As surprising as it might sound, Singapore is officially the most expensive city in the world.
The report by Moneyish sums up a list of data found by the EIU. The data, which detail the most expensive cities in the world, determine the scores based on prices of commodities such as drinks and food.
The top ten cities, from number one to number ten, are: Singapore; Paris, France; Zurich, Switzerland; Hong Kong, SAR, China; Oslo, Norway; Geneva, Switzerland; Seoul, South Korea; Copenhagen, Denmark; Tel Aviv, Israel; and Sydney, Australia.
Shockingly, New York City didn’t crack the top 10. It is, however, the most expensive in the United States, at number 13 worldwide.
