All three of the people in the world who have never read the Harry Potter series probably view it as a cutesy, childish series of whimsical adventure. However, seasoned Potterheads will tell them how mistaken they are. Tragedy is more common than uncommon starting in the fourth book, and many of the characters that we’d grown to know and love began to die. Though there are too many deaths to count in the series, these ten definitely stick out as the ten saddest. (Note: This is super subjective.)
1Fred Weasley
Was there any question as to who number one would be? Of all the Weasleys that Rowling could have killed off, she chose one of the Weasley twins? (Note that “one” is underlined because the bond between the two was so strong that to separate them would be a sin.) Fred and George were as close as two people could ever get, so much a unit that even their own mother confused them. When Fred died, he was still laughing — a testament to the happy, exciting life he led. George was never the same again, and neither were we.
