All three of the people in the world who have never read the Harry Potter series probably view it as a cutesy, childish series of whimsical adventure. However, seasoned Potterheads will tell them how mistaken they are. Tragedy is more common than uncommon starting in the fourth book, and many of the characters that we’d grown to know and love began to die. Though there are too many deaths to count in the series, these ten definitely stick out as the ten saddest. (Note: This is super subjective.)
4Albus Dumbledore
Dumbledore’s death is a little bit weird to me. When he died in the sixth book, we were all left mourning the man who was Harry’s mentor and the strongest wizard in the world. However, in the seventh book, we were exposed to Dumbledore’s past a little bit — and it was less than pure. That doesn’t make his death any less sad, though, because at the end of the day he was human. Extraordinary, maybe, but just a good man who made tremendous mistakes and saw more devastation than most people ever will.
