Local organization delivers free instruments to elementary schoolers

Tom Haller of Littleton, Colorado has given the ultimate gift to a group of elementary school students: music.

In many Colorado elementary and middle schools, there are no band programs, reports 9News Colorado. Even for those with band programs, many students do not feel as though they are able to participate due to the cost of instruments. For this reason, Haller founded Opening Notes, a group that delivers free musical instruments to schools.

Many students, says Littleton music teacher Amy Gonzales, would like to play musical instruments. However, their cost hinders students from ever picking them up. Thanks to Opening Notes, that has changed.
